HOW NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF MULTITASKING

Whether you were good at multitasking before you had children or not you will discover that multitasking is a strength that comes with Motherhood. How many mothers can feed a baby, whilst talking to a toddler and remembering to get something out of the fridge for tea? If you are working away from home you can still have half a mind on where your child is, whether there is washing to do and what their homework might be.

A mother’s brain is able to think a dozen things at once, remember things, plan things, take physical action and turn dreams into realities. Sometimes though Mums find that in trying to do everything (for everyone) it feels as though they are doing nothing. If you want to find out more about ‘What mothers do’ – especially when it looks like nothing – read Naomi Stadlen’s book by the same name. Sometimes it is more important to be a human being than a human doing.
